Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest Trophies

This coming weekend Memphis will once again be home to the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Competition. Each May the top BBQ teams from around the US meet in Tom Lee Park on the banks of the Mississippi River to compete for the top prize in BBQ.

The top 14 winners of the event win a custom built trophy. Since 2009 Innovative Fab has been producing the trophies for the event. Each trophy originates from sheet metal and is cut and formed into a work of art. To give you a better perspective on how this is accomplished, we produced a short video showing some of the processes involved. Employing the same equipment used for high volume industrial fabrication, we’re able to transform sheets of material into the world’s most coveted BBQ trophies.
